April 7 1:30 pm

Just visited Neil. Neil was on the trach collar for about 2 hours. He is still doing well on this. The orthopedist has reviewed the x-rays and does not like the way the bone looks. Neil will have surgery tomorrow to "plate" the bone and possible do a bone graft. It seems to us the quicker they do this, the better. Neil is ready to get the show on the road. Please pray for Neil's lungs.

Wow, we have such wonderful news. Sue is having a wonderful day. The doctors are saying that she will probably be moved to a room here on the floor in the next week or so. Following this, the doctor said Sue will probably go to Health South. Her daughters are so excited. She has made tremendous progress.

We even have more good news. Shannon seems to be waking up!!!!! She was able to follow some commands including to squeeze her hand. Now we are all excited. My goodness, God is good. Her parents are thrilled and we are so happy for them.

What a great day in the SICU waiting room. Thanks to each of you. We are all humbled by the power of prayer.

Neil, you will be in our thoughts and prayers during your surgery tomorrow. Maybe this is a side step with another baby step tomorrow. I'm looking forward to your leaps in the future. You are doing a great job now. Hang in there.
