Neil has had a good day. Wow, his new room is better than the other suite. It is actually two adjoining rooms. Neil has a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. Now we are talking about a resort room. This is great as we can make Neil the "hot shot" milkshakes and other things he needs. He is still nauseated some and the nurse thinks it is the medication, pain and lots of moving around. Neil is still amazed the doctor wants him on 5000 calories a day. Neil is still receiving TPN (Total Parental Nutrition) and tube feeding. It is very difficult for him to drink more as he is full. The tube feeding is being stopped about an hour before meal time to try and help. Each day this should get better. Physical therapy did not come by today so tonight Neil wanted to sit up. He did this for several minutes with his "PT" team (us). The wound care folks came by and changed the dressing on his abdomen and are very pleased with the progress. This wound is getting smaller. They have asked Neil if he was willing for them to document the progress as they have not seen many wounds like this with the ileostomy so close. They plan to use this if they have the opportunity to present at a Southeastern or National Conference. DeAnn will be able to stay with Neil at night. Thank goodness!!!! All in all this was a good day. We cannot wait until tomorrow. Please continue to pray for Neil's lungs, leg and continued breathing on the trach collar.
I will try to see some of our friends later tonight. Listen to this, you all just prayed Daisy out of the hospital. Daisy left about 11 this morning going to Health South. Her sweet friends, Roger and Laura, have been so faithful to stay with her. They have been a blessing to us as we observed their loving care of her. Sue's day started off great and then she tired out early in the day. Please continue to pray for her. Please pray for the full recovery of Sue, Shannon, Nelson, John and our other friends here.

Wow, an upgraded room. Neil is getting "spoiled" is sounds like. But, if anyone deserves it, it is him. We are so happy for you guys and I know that Deann is tickled about being able to stay with him at night. I can't wait for the "BIG PARADE" on the day he is able to wheel out the front door. I know that day will bring many mixed emotions. We love you guys and can't wait until Neil is out of "isolation" so we can see him again. Let us know if there is anything we can do. And as always, our door is open if anyone needs a place to stay. Love you guys!!!!
