April 14 9:00 pm

What a wonderful day!!!! Neil did get moved to a room on the floor. As he came by from the SICU, it was like watching the grandest parade in the world. He is settled in his room. There is a super view of the parking lot and at night with all the lights it resembles a resort. The nausea has been lousy today and the doctor is trying to figure it out. For tonight, the tube feeding is stopped. They will start things back tomorrow and maybe determine the cause. Neil does not have temperature tonight, thank goodness. So, the way I think, this is a GIANT step. He still has the VRE and the doctor is doing more cultures.

For now, Neil cannot have visitors but we sure hope within a week or so that will change. I am sure all of you will understand that none of us want Neil to get any other infection, nor does he want to share with you. We will continue the blog but will figure this out as we go. I am going to keep you posted with our friends so we can continue the prayers for them

Sue has had the best day yet. You will notice the last several days have been her best days. Listen to this, she will be moved to a room tomorrow. Prayer is so powerful. Not only Sue, but Daisy has had a very good day. The doctor is talking about moving her out tomorrow also. Nelson is doing a bit better. Visits with his brother have been good. I have not seen John's family today. Shannon has had a good day. The ventilator setting has been reduced from 8 to 4 and she is moving toward the BI-PAP. When her dad walked in and said her name, she opened her eyes. Her mom said she lightly squeezed. Please continue to pray for the full recovery of each of these and our other friends here.

We cannot tell you how much we appreciate all of your prayers. You have prayed Neil out of SICU!!!!! We so look forward to tomorrow.

Praise The Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so tickled for all of you. Being in a "room" will be so much more comfortable for all of you. Neil may have to run you out now!!!!!!!:) I seriously doubt that will ever happen, don't you? I know all the staff got attached to him and to all of you! What a precious family! I'm sure they will keep very close tabs on Neil. Those are friendships that will last a lifetime!!!!!!!!!!! Hope he rests well tonight and the nausea passes. We'll be out of touch a few days since it is Spring Break for us, but the prayers NEVER stop. Love to all of you, Karl, Melanie, and Ashleigh

Thanks be to God. I know this is a big giant step and so important. I'm sure the intensive care staff will miss you all not only because of your love for others, but they surely must be proud of Neil and all he has accomplished. I hope that today is a banner day in that the nausea is gone, the fever is gone and there are just all blue skies ahead! This news is so wonderful. We continue to pray for Neil and your entire sweet, caring family. Just know that we love you all.

WOW!!!! What wonderful news and what great progress. Thinking of all of you as you transition to this new way of living with Neil having a room of his own. Neil, I hope you weren't too disappointed with the Master's results. LSG- thanks so much for keeping us in the know about the SICU families. Keeping on with thoughts and prayers, Becky P
