Dang, I sure hate to write this. Neil has been coughing up blood off and on since yesterday. The doctor and respiratory folks think it might be the trach in this throat causing some irritation. In that it has not subsided, Neil is back in SICU. The doctor has done a bronchialscope (?) which has determined the trach is the cause of the bleeding. Neil will have to stay in SICU tonight and maybe will be moved out tomorrow. Thank goodness this is the cause of the bleeding. We continue to pray for Neil's lungs, leg and the breathing on the trach collar.
We did see Sue this morning and she had a good night. She had to go to x-ray because there is some concern she might have a bit of bleeding. Her daughters are not alarmed, but want to determine the cause of this. Sue and Neil have sure had some parallel issues. Please pray for the full recovery of Sue. I have not seen Shannon's folks today. Please pray for Nelson. They have put him on the rotary bed as he is having lung problems. Please pray for Daisy, John and our other friends here.
I do not think I mentioned yesterday was 7 weeks since the accident happened. Neil has made tremendous progress and we are thrilled. There is no way Neil could have managed this without your love and support. We so appreciate each of you.

Okay, this is one of those steps backwards which Neil likes to surprise us with now and then. Praying that the bleeding will subside soon and Neil will be back in his "room with a view".

Hang in there guys... I am so sorry you're having to take steps back. There is a reason for this though (even though we do not understand why), and I am positive Neil will be just fine:)! He has improved sooo much!!!! I am praying everytime I think of you all!

I guess this is one of those little steps back, but I was hoping Neil wouldn't have to deal with any more, but I'm thankful that the trach is the cause of the bleeding & not something more serious. Hang in there Neil & everyone. You've come so far & you'll overcome this. Ya'll are always in my prayers.
