Neil and DeAnn had a good night. They seem to be able to sleep for longer periods of time. Today was DeAnn's birthday. Neil put in the speaking valve and sang "Happy Birthday" early this morning. He told her to open one of the drawers and he had a card and a present for her. Yea!!!! The orthopedist was very pleased with Neil's leg. He x-rayed and we should hear from this tomorrow. The orthopedist said he would be sure to get physical therapy here. They did in fact come and Neil sat on the side of the bed for about 7 minutes. They came back later and did range of motion with him. The infectious disease doctor came by and is very pleased. He will come by when they change the dressing on Neil's leg tomorrow. The wound care folks came today and changed the abdomen dressing. Respiratory therapy will probably try to cap the trach tomorrow. All in all this was a very good day. Happy Birthday, DeAnn. Please pray for Neil 's lungs, leg and continued breathing on the trach collar.
Sue has had a great day. She no longer has a trach. She looks beautiful and is feeling good. Sue will be going to Health South tomorrow or the next day. She is one of the miracles of the SICU Waiting Room. Shannon is now on the pressure support ventilator. We are so proud for her and her family. Please pray for the full recovery of Sue, Shannon, John, Nelson and our other friends here.
