April 6 9:00pm

Just visited Neil. He was on the trach collar for 3 1/2 hours. This is a total of 7 hours and 10 minutes. He has set a goal for himself of 8 hours on the trach collar tomorrow. The respiratory therapist told him it would take 2-3 weeks to "wean" off the ventilator. Neil says he can do this in less time than that. In fact every time someone tells him how long it will take, he typically says he can beat that time. We continually tell Neil to set realistic goals and he rolls his eyes. He does make us smile with pride. His blood sugar was a bit high today and he had to have some insulin. This is not alarming as this is due to the TPN. Please pray for Neil's lungs.

Please pray for the full recovery of Sue, Shannon, Clinton, John and our other friends here. Please remember Clinton as the tumor removed was malignant and his family is so worried. Shannon has had a good day. I guess the person who takes the cake today is Sue. She was able to use the speaking valve and was able to say, "I love my daughters!", to her two sweet daughters. I am not sure who was most excited, Sue or her daughters. Yea!!!!!!

We have the most wonderful Sunday. This has been a good day for all. Thanks so very much for your love and support.

You go Neil, you've come so far in such a short time. I'm sure to you it seems like forever and that you are anxious to "get on with it". You have such an awesome family cheering you on.
All my love sweetie,
