April 20 8:45 pm

Neil has had a good Sunday. It has been another restful, healing day. It seems he has gotten lost in the physical therapy rotation. We mentioned this to the physician's assistant and the nurse but have not seen physical therapy since Friday morning. The nurse called and was told the physical therapy was discontinued. We will work on that again in the morning. Neil is still coughing and has some nausea. This should get better with time. The doctor said maybe in the next couple of days he will change the cannula in the trach to a smaller size. After several days of that, he will consider capping the trach. He wants the coughing and the secretions to get less before taking the next step. We sure look forward to tomorrow. Please pray for Neil's lungs, leg and continued breathing on the trach collar.

I sure do have some good news about Shannon. She was more alert today than she has been at all. The doctor is now manipulating the ventilator and Shannon is responding to this. We are so thrilled for Shannon and her family. Her parents and family love her so much and are so supportive. Sue has had a great day. She has been in her chair and has had visitors off and on all day. Her daughters just walk around grinning. I saw John's family and he has had a good day. They are so supportive and love him so much. Nelson's brother said Nelson is about the same and we are praying his lungs will begin to improve. Please pray for the full recovery of Sue, Shannon, John, Nelson and our other friends her.

Please pray for the full recovery of Bob Robertson. He will have surgery coming up and we hope everything goes well.

Tomorrow there may not be a post until evening. I will get it done as soon as possible. Please continue to support the Andress family. Thanks to all of you for your love and support.

God has truly blessed Neil and proven the power in prayer! I read a verse tonight during my quite time after the kids were in bed and it made me think of Neil. "Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Matthew 21:22 Lucia, you need to read the book, "The Power of a Praying Parent" by Stormie Omartian. It is awesome and I think you would really love it!:) Hang in there, Neil!
