April 27 8:30 pm

Good afternoon to all, Neil did not feel good most of the day. He had temperature off and on. The doctor on call came by and said the cultures indicated Neil had serratia. (You will remember he has had this off and on.) He added an antibiotic, Merrem, for this. We sure hope this will take care of this bacteria. Neil was nauseated most of the day. It is difficult for him to eat and drink feeling like this, but he sure gets an A for effort. Dang, he tries so hard. To say we are proud of him is an understatement. Now for the good news!!!! He is feeling 100 times better right now (his words). He ate dinner and even had some cobbler with ice cream. The nausea is gone. Yea!!! We cannot wait for tomorrow. Please pray for Neil's lungs, leg and continued breathing on and off the trach collar.

Please continue to remember Vicki and her family.

Guess what, Susan, Sue's daughter came to visit us. Please continue to pray for Sue's full recovery. She is on oxygen full time right now and we sure want her to be able to breathe on her own some. Dang, it was grand to see Susan to hear from Tommie Lee and the children. We have been so blessed here with such special friends. Other good news is Nelson continues to improve daily and may be moved to UAB tomorrow. John's wife is so encouraged today by his progress. His family is so special. We saw Shannon's mom today. Shannon continues to breathe well. Please pray for Shannon to wake up. She is doing so much better in every other way. We saw Laura, Daisy's friend. Daisy is back her with pneumonia and now she has a staff infection. Laura is so optimistic about Daisy's recovery as we are. Please pray for all our friends here.

Thanks so each and every one of you for your prayers, love and support.

I was tickled to read that Neil ate cobbler and ice cream! Hopefully that antibiotic will clear everything up so he'll soon feel better. He is sure a fighter! All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. Melanie
