March 8 1:20pm

(We wanted to start adding some pictures of Neil with friends and family...so this is the first one with DeAnn of course! This pic is from this year's Mardi Gras Ball that was in January.)

We first of all apologize for you just now getting the 10:00 post. We have been trying to post it since about 45 min after we got out and the website has been down.

SO we just went in to see Neil and his sats are still at 97-99. We talked with the day nurse for the next few days, and she said that they are going to leave things the way they are until probably Monday. The doctor wants to let Neil rest and give him some time to build up some strength before doing a few different things on Monday.

Many of you may notice the change in the person posting on the blog. This is Reese right now and Mom has been keeping it updated while I have been at work. I know many of you have called or we have gotten word that you had not realized that Neil's condition is as serious as it is. I am so sorry if we have given the wrong idea. We just choose to focus on the positive and that is what you are getting. Of course with things as good as they are in this very bad situation we are rejoicing in the improvement over the last 24 hours. With sadness we must tell you that Neil continues to be critical. We will continue to celebrate the good and try to keep you informed even if it's not as good.

Now that we got that out of the way I must share with you that one of Neil's precious uncle's got him a t-shirt from the Dr. Ralph Stanley concert a few nights ago. He had Dr. Ralph Stanley sign it and it is here for him when Neil is ready to wear it. Also today some of Neil's friends tried to out-do the Dr. Ralph Stanley t-shirt, so we have a Hooter's t-shirt from the Montgomery location signed by all the Hooter's girls...even Mom says that she can't wait to take it in. I hope you are all celebrating with us today but continuing to keep my sweet brother in your prayers and especially his lungs!!! We had a very special prayer lead by a friend's very young daughter the other night. She was very adamant that we should pray for Neil. So everyone gathered up, held hands and the prayer started, "God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for our food..." it was one of the funniest things that has happened here! Just wanted to let you know that we are enjoying the company and still finding the humor in life.

Please continue to support and pray for the Andress family.

Lucia: You and your family, and DeAnn and her family, have been such an inspiration to us all. You have set a shining example for us all as we pray with you, watch and learn from you as a family going through terrible adversity. Neil has always had such a sweet countenance, great personality and a smile I could always count on. I have known from the very beginning that Neil will pull through this crisis. Thanks you so much for your faithfulness in keeping us all updated. It means a lot to us since we can’t be there with you daily. We love you all so much and are holding on to you tightly.

It is always good to read and hear the great reports on Neil. The picture is precious. Just like him to be such a "clown". Reese it is good to hear from you, I have been wondering how you are. When I called the other day, I talked to your mom about you and DeAnn. Keep us updated on Neil's progress. Lots of love and prayers,

Glad to hear Neil's stats are so much better. This surely is a testimony that God, in his infinite mercy, is still in control. I continue to pray for Neil's healing and to give you all strength during this time. I thank God for every miracle he has given Neil and those that are yet to come. Lots of love, Charlotte Windham

I praise the Lord for the good report today. We are praying for all of you and know that the Lord upholds you... God is sooo good! Tell Neil to hurry up and get well and lets try to have that family reunion this year. I haven't seen Neil since he was little-as well as all the other additions to the AL clan. I've always been proud to hear of all his successes and this will be another one! We're having a church fellowship tonight with about 6 churches represented so we will get Neil on all their prayer lists as well. We know this is definitely not a case of ye have not because ye ask not. I can't wait to see how God uses Neil as a result of this trial. May God hold you all in His right hand! We love you!

Lucia and family, being away from Elba for so long I never had the chance to meet either of your children. We have been praying for Neil at our house since the accident happened like we have known him all of his life. I was so glad that you all posted the photos today. I see Kenneth Grantham all over Neil's face and just from what I have read about Neil I expect he has his Uncle John's sense of humor. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that my 16 year old Seth mentioned the need to ask God to help him with graduation exams last week. My 7 year old granddaughter, Sydney, explained that Seth would need to work the exams out on his own as God was needed more at Neil's lungs and we just did not need to bother Him right now with a silly test.
I do not know how you all manage to be so faithful to this blog with everything you are dealing with but I check it at least 30 times each day so anxious for a little more good news.
Love to all of you,
Shelia Hornsby
