Neil is out of surgery. The doctor came to us with a smile on his face. He said all went well. He was able to close a couple of inches of the abdomen. He put the mesh in and was able to tighten the remainder of the abdomen. He said the surgery to completely close the abdomen would be much later. The doctor said he had consulted with a wound care specialist and would follow his directions regarding the incision. The most important thing the doctor said was "Neil's lungs are continuing to improve". That is the best news of the day!!!!! Please pray for Neil's lungs.
Please continue to pray for the recovery of Sue, Shannon, Brian and our other friends here.
Your love and support makes all of this work for us. We cannot tell you thank you enough.

Lucia, this makes my day!

Love those smiles from the docs and I'm so grateful for this step forward for Neil and all of you. Know you all feel so good to have this surgery behind him with this very positive outcome. Can't help remembering back over these past four weeks and thinking of all the remarkable blessings Neil has experienced during this time. Take care, Becky P
YAYYY!!!! We love smiling doctors!!! Keep it up Neil!
Love you guys,

Neil, When the blog said they were going to try and tighten your stomach I thought you were getting a tummy tuck! I turned green with envy for a few seconds there!!! On a serious note, from the way you handled surgery today along with the vent change I think your Mom is being stingy with her compliments. It won't be long before you are tap dancing for those nurses! Still praying and still loving-Kristi Wilkerson
This is indeed a great day for NEIL, YEA!!! his lungs will continue to improve, because we have all agreed in Jesus name and it is done! AMEN! Just look how far he has come,he is such a a fighter, and we are so proud of Neil. LOVE YOU ALL, LINDA
Neil, we are so pleased the surgery went well for you today. You have so many well-wishers. Start wiggling those toes when you can because that beach sand sticks to them and you got to wiggle them to get that sand off. Looking foward to PCB when you are up to it!
