May 27 8:00

Good Afternoon Folks, Neil is out of surgery and is feeling so much better than he did on Friday. The doctors have absolutely figured out how to better manage his pain. The doctor said there was more dead muscle as well as some infection. These are the same infections, serratia and VRE, that Neil has had for some time. The doctor had to take the amputation up higher, but it is still below the knee. The doctor will go back in on Friday to take a look. He is cautiously optimistic that the amputation will not have to go above the knee. I am writing this note with Neil. He is ready to get on with this so he will have a "starting point". Neil as well as all of us so appreciate your love and concern. We are amazed that today is 13 weeks since this horrible accident occurred. Without all you we could have never managed this and we are so very grateful. We sure look forward to tomorrow. Please pray for Neil's leg.

Lucia, Neil,DeAnne and All,

I love you guys so very much. You are all so very strong and I admire that in each of you. Each of you comes from strong blood lines and that is a very good triat to inherit. As hard as this must be(and I can not even image all you have been through)God has answered so many prayers in that we still have that"sweet little Neil face" to see and cherish every day. Neil you have a purpose on this earth, and you are so very loved by so many. I truly hope your recovery time will speed up now and we can see you back in good "ole" ELBEE real soon!!!!
My prayers and thoughts are with you all the time.

Lucia, Are you looking "brassy" yet???? HA! HA!! I just had to ask!!!!!!!

Love,
Debbie

We had a nice visit with Nancy and Brother Stanley at their house last night. We all are so amazed at your positive outlook! You are such a warrior, Neil, and an inspiration to all of us! I think it is the neatest thing that Jimmy Buffet wrote on your blog. Ashliegh saw it and ran to tell me in the kitchen. I stopped cooking, and ran back to the computer to see it. Take care, and hope to see you soon. Melanie:)

Kenneth,
I just wanted you to know that you and Neil are in my thoughts constantly. If I were in your position I'm not sure I could have handled things so well. I love you and lift you up in prayer every day. When you are on the other side of this looking back you'll see that God had a plan. I feel certain he has an awesome plan for Neil and Deanne. Their future is very bright. I love you Cuz.
